ABY coil wanted and POS

Ok, i was preparing to start the engine on the golf and everything was fine until i plugged in the 12v supply to the coils and smoke started coming from underneath the coil cover.

From what i can make out the first POS has failed and somehow turned No3 coil on, were not talking milliseconds here it just turned the bloody thing on and fried the poor thing.

Anyway, i now need a spare coil and POS.

I`ll consider a set of coils if the price is not silly and maybe a POS is better to buy new if anyone knows of a cheap retailer

I have a spare POS. Used, but the last time I checked it worked...

Are you 100% sure your wiring is correct? AFAIK, the POS normally fail in a manner that prevents power from getting to the coil, not the way that you are suggesting.

If you are sure about the wiring, the V6 wasted spark POS, brown, made by Hitachi,
4A0 905 351 (our black Bosch ones are 4A0 905 351A), will work and can likely be had used cheap from a wrecker/breaker for a trial.
