      First response from ProtechComposites.com

      " Anton,

Most injection molded parts have features that can’t be replicated in carbon fiber due to the differences in forming processes. Bosses, ribs, and large thickness variations of thermoplastic parts can’t be reproduced in carbon fiber. If you have parts that have a constant thickness without ribs or bosses, perhaps it is possible, but it will require a proper study of the part beforehand. For those parts that meet these criteria, you can send us samples and we will consider them. We currently have a backlog of orders and it would be about 8-10 weeks before we could get started on such a project.

As for your special fabric you require, if you could locate it and have it sent to our facility, we would consider manufacturing a panel using this material. The minimum size would be 4ftx8ft at a cost, excluding material cost, of $400.

      Sincerely,

      Chris Bailey

Is it getting hot in here?

There are a couple of places near to me that produce molded plastic parts. I've guess I'm going to get my crutches out and hobble over there Anton.

Good news on the carbon shop, finally a reply with an explanation. I'll call 'em tomorrow and see how things go. If all goes well are we up for a group buy production run?

                  Hello Anton,

Sorry for the delayed reply as we had our email server hacked and it turns out none of our replies were sent out.

We do not replicate or create CF parts. We provide a service to overlay OEM parts with carbon fiber to create the trim pieces you see.

That being said we have done small custom project for clients that wanted small pieces molded and we might be able to help you out.

You can give me a call at 604-818-3887 to discuss your project or reply to this email with more details.

                  Regards,

                  Winston'

Some good news. I spoke to Winston this afternoon. He was very willing to take a look at the pics. The conversation went well and hopeful they can actually do this. On another note he says he even has the carbon that matches the oem carbon to do overlays, but we'll see after he replies to my email. I sent him a pic of the original RS2 trims to see if what he has matches.

I need to know how many people is 'seriously' interested. I asked him that we would like to buy the moulding so the S2forum will own the mould for future group buys to benefit out forum. Should we use this as an interests thread? or start a new?
                    Cheers mis amigos,
                    _Anton

                      As a matter interest

Has anyone taken photos of an RS2 bumper in-situ with S2 trims and then a photo with the correct RS2 trim so that any potential group buy participants know why they wan the RS2 trims?

The couch photo / comments was lol, and also clearly demonstrated the differences.

I don't need these RS2 trims, but I am just curious to "see" the differences in action on a car.

                      I'll get my coat now.

                      Kind regards.
