I think it is just a yellow lacquer? You certainly used to get some for UK drivers going to France etc - how eighties!

I have done mine myself. I went to an Art supplies shop and asked for glass paint. I painted them by hand and they looked "POWER NAFF". So as the paint was very thin i gave to them to mate and he sprayed them and lacquered them in his bodyshop. I found a site by accident (cant remember the name) but it sells a plastic film that does the same job.
