You probably don't notice that much compared to the front, as you can really feel that when that loses and regains grip

You'll be amazed with the difference with the ARB. Take it to a really tight roundabout and build up the speed, you'll notice how late it starts to understeer. Also, get it really loaded on a roundabout at higher speed and let-off sharply in second, the back should drift round slowly and controllably, get back on the power and it snaps back on-line. Sweet

        Sounds like my kinda ride!!

The only shame is i'll probably fit the beefier rear bar and the torsen diff at the same time as i'm polybushing the rear subframe and wishbones all in one go.....unless i can try and drop the diff separately.

Alex, you're spot on with your theory. Torsen should send more torque to the rear behaving more like a RWD. Remember Torsen is NOT an LSD, it's not speed based, it's torque based.

However it won't help the understeer mid-corner, only a RARB can do that.

I'm hoping for a totally different car with a proper sized rear ARB and the Torsen.
I guess the 22mm rear bar should be a pretty even match for the 26mm front bar.
I've got a 25mm on standby if its not enough

Looking at this chart as a rough guide, the "scrapyard" rear ARB upgrades for the coupe look absolutely insane on paper

dont forget that the 22mm bars are from the front and therefore have longer arms...reducing the torque of the bar.

Ah, you must have missed my thread roughly quantifying the stiffness of all OE bars. The front bar levers are approx. 1.5 times longer than the rear but as it's diameter^4 the gains are large. The 24mm is about 10 times stiffer and the RS2 some 18 times stiffer.

had you not seen that one? That was what kicked off my love of fat ARBs Just need to find an RS2 style bar to try on the front like Mark H has.

Well rear subframe and wishbones are being bead blasted next week, I have poly bushes sitting here ready.
I need to order some parts - I need the diff oil seals and flange bolts, subframe and wishbone bolts and also need to find an S2 rear driveshaft as CQ shafts have a different inner CV joint bolt set-up and diff flanges for some reason only Audi could explain

Yeah, they're larger on the S2 than the CQ

Shoul dbe nice and toight when you're finished. I'm looking at poly and ally next but as my front and rear suspension is all <20k new I'll leave it for now...

yeah, crazy they thought the CQ ones were too small

I've just polybushed the front end and it makes a big difference over stock rubber bushes mate, you know it makes sence
