Until someone correlates that iPhone software with a more traditional device like G-Tech RR I wouldn't trust its results too much. Don't get me wrong - its a great concept for a cute little app that uses the iPhones accelerometer, but I've not seen independent tests yet - just some hype 'net videos that slag off the G-Tech for no real reason.

That Dynolicious vs. G-Tech flick on Youtube is ridiculous.
0-60 times on the Iphone is slower than what the Vbox says, in the comparisons that I have seen. G-tech also yields slightly higher time to velocity times than real life, (especially when not using rollout), but is much closer.
Still, gotta give Dynolicious some massive props. Awesome stuff for the price

If I ever can be bothered to upgrade to iPhone 3G I'll try this dynolicious thang - tis very cheap - and compare it with GTech RR. Just don't hold your breath for results... Got a few other projects on the go.Paul Nugent

Dynolicious vs.vbox and Dynojet (pretty poor test):

Dynolicious vs Performance Box:
You may remember the Dynolicious performance meter application for iPhone that we featured earlier this week. One enterprising member of our staff in our Chicago office bought a license installed it on his iPhone, attached it to an S5 test car they have this week and compared it to our VBox that...
Interesting to note that accelerometer based timers lag behind the times of GPS based ones. Accelerometers have been accused of yielding better than real times due to vehicle squat. While that theory is sound, it now seems that 0-60 and 1/4 times made on accelerometers are more conservative than real life figures.1995 RS2 on Alcohol (6.8sec 100-200km/h)

You can enter a correction factor. However, that is an average correction factor. The car will squat more at launch than it will at high speed.
A high correction factor could give more correct 0-20mph times, but the 60-80mph times would be too high.1995 RS2 on Alcohol (6.8sec 100-200km/h)
