Front Lighting (Projector Headlights and Fogs, and Indicators) for Coupe/S2

    All,

After a set of the projector headlights and indicators for my S2 project, needs to be immaculate (minimum) or preferably new. If this isn't possible, if someone can dig up the part numbers that would be helpful.

Going to be doing HID conversion on the dipped heads and fogs, and complete 'de-tango' of the indicators.

    Regards,
    Mike

Total budget for the entire lot (bearing in mind I'll be dishing £400 on HID conversions and bulbs for the indicators/mains/sides) is £1000, so £600 to get all the lamp units. Hope that's not unreasonable, as when I mentioned spending that much on the lights to the Mrs she nearly lept at me with one of the new Sabatiers!

Given that you should get the 2 sets of HIDs for a little over £100 off the bay, that would leave lots to console Mrs

Projectors are around £375 new for a pair from audi if your lucky. I used to pay £250 but can't get them atm.

Foglights are cheaper as you can just buy the casing which is what normally goes and is around £30 each afaik.

No chance, I'm getting decent ones as I value my loom...

Sticking with HIDs4U.co.uk - looked after me with my Megane and was an excellent kit. Replaced a dodgy ballast without quibble and expense on my part...

Well worth the extra money - passed a light pattern test too!

HIDs4u kit is only £100 for H1s so actually quite resonable, their ultimate kit is £200 and is designed to stop OBC errors but as there's a mod to fix that I guess you can save yourself £100.

As I'm doing it properly (I've heard a couple of horror stories about 'mods' to fix the lamp warnings on some cars) I'm getting the Ultimate kit - I get discount there anyway... Two sets is still going to hurt me, but hey - I knew doing it this way wasn't going to be cheap!

How do these cope with main beam operation? There's another thread going on at the mo about HIDs and I'm looking for a kit to fit to my dip beams. If the Hids4u kits are good then I'd happily spend the money to get their kit over an ebay one. As for OBC errors, the S2 is an old car so not as advanced as the more modern stuff, plenty of people have run with HIDs for years with no problems.

I take it Autocheck doesn't moan then with the HID kit fitted?

Main beam is a seperate bulb - best off sticking to a filament bulb for those as the 'flasher' can shorten HID's lifespan...

I have had HID´s from cp-service.se and i have never seen the Autocheck on the 2 S2,s i have fitted HID´s on.. i have them on my current-94 S2 and i had them on the inca orange -95 S2. The kit,s i get seem to be good quality and are about 100 quid a set. Mike sorry to ****** up your thread, your car is going to be one of the best out there i guess!

I thikn its a bit hit and miss as to whether the Autocheck gets upset but as I don't know how the Autocheck works best search for conflicts.

Goodo, I'm looking at a HID kit on the dips and then a relay setup on the mains (they're pretty good as is TBH). If you do save the £100 on the basic kit over the special kit then you could get some H7s for the fogs!

The fogs are already getting HID treatment...
