intake pipe to throttle body

Hi, I'm after the metal air intake pipe that runs from the front to the rear of the engine bay to the throttle body if anyone has a spare.

iirc they differ from 3B to ABY engines, ABY ones are plastic with metal sleves and the 3B ones are metal all the way through.

What engine do you have?

has it got to be metal as i imagine sal ( of here) has one or two of the plastic ones.

3B and ABY pipe is different

ABY one is also metal, the RS2 one was plastic and then it was fitted to late ABY made cars as standard.

so wont a 3b one fit an aby, ( always thought it would.)

It will fit but that's not the problem, the hose from the Intercooler is different between the 3B and ABY so you have to change that at the same time AFAIK

I guess either metal or plastic would do but metal would be my preference given the choice. My engine is an ABY but its going into a UR quattro so will need some fettling with non standard hoses at the intercooler end anyway.

difference between metal and plastic is that the latter is supposed to dissipate heat more easily.
mine is metal though and larger, custom made
