    Wanted: S2 Avant

    Hello all help required please.

    I'm after a S2 Avant.

Basically I'm after a mechanically solid car that I can add to when time and cash allow, colour and mileage are not really concerns, I might be interested in a 'off the road' project depending on how much work / money is required.

Please send me a PM if anyone has anything of interest for sale.

    Thanks James

    ps I'm based in Leeds.

Mines going on the bay on Thursday evening at 8pm with 10 months test and no known issues, the bidding starts at £1500 and is on sale from the first bid.

          This is the advert:-

Welcome to my auction for my much loved S2 avant, I've had the car for almost two years and it has been faultless and ultra reliable. It has been used as a second car and has only covered around 10k since I've owned it.

I would love to keep it but apart from a weekly run around the block to keep everything nice and loose, the car hasn't been used since November. What with work, a 100 mile daily commute, a baby and another on the way means I don't get time to enjoy it, so I'm looking for someone who can.

It was tested in March and has done less than 50 miles since then, one front anti-rollbar drop link was found to be suspect so both were changed as a matter of course, apart from that it flew through the test.

There is a massive folder of history with it, the car has been looked after regardless of cost, most of the work done was at Audi dealers and then later at Audi specialists, the car also comes with every MOT cert from new, owners handbook, service book and leather Audi folder. You will also get two keys complete with fobs for the Cat 1 Cobra alarm/immobiliser if you are the winning bidder.

When I bought the car it was advertised as having 270bhp, this suggests it's had a re-map at some stage but it's never been on a rolling road so I can't confirm this for sure, therefore it will be sold as the original 230bhp.

The interior is in very good order, it has the optional carbon trim pack which looks so much better than the standard wood trim, the seats are blue jacquard with the quattro logo running through them, there is a very, very slight rub mark on the drivers bolster but that's just being picky, the stereo is the original Sony unit which still works ok but is obviously no match for a modern head unit.

Inside, all the electrics (windows, mirrors, sunroof and locks) work as they should, the A/C hasn't worked since I've had the car but it has the tilt and slide sunroof so it's never really bothered me. There is a small amount of peeling on the speedo dial as you can see in the pictures, this dial is also a little temperamental, sometimes sticking at 0mph and sometimes at 90-100mph, it does work ok 95% of the time though.
All the auxiliary gauges work perfectly and show 5 bar oil pressure and 14v charge.

The engine has done 173k but is still an absolute peach, starts on the button with no smoke, these 5 cylinder 20v Audi units are absolutely bulletproof, as is the 6 speed gearbox and are good for double this mileage when looked after as well as this one has been, there is a massive service history and invoice folder which is a credit to the previous owners, it has only been run on good quality synthetic oil and premium grade petrol in my ownership.

The bodywork is very solid, a testament to Audi galvanizing, however, the paint could do with a little TLC, it has a few trolley dings and some stonechipping to the front, there are a couple of small rust patches on the back arches, the worst of which you can see in the photos on the rear offside quarter, I've removed the bubbled paint to assess the steel underneath with a view to repairing it myself, unfortunately I no longer have access to the workshop so it is still not painted, the steel however is still very solid and just needs a bit of paint to sort it out.

There is also a scuff to the rear bumper on the same quarter as shown in the photos, the paint has been scuffed but there is no gouge in the plastic, so should be an easy repair... Please remember this is a 16 year old car, it's not in showroom condition but it does still draw admiring looks when out and about.

It comes with an OEM Audi towbar (never used) which clips off and stores in the boot leaving no unsightly metalwork at the back bumper, it has a reusable K and N performance air filter fitted, four decent Dunlop SP2000 tyres fitted, the spare is also an alloy.

It has aftermarket clear front indicators which tidy up the front of the car, the matching clear side repeaters aren't fitted but will be included in the sale... A Cobra CN30 Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser is fitted and both fobs also operate the central locking, oh, and there's a 1/4 tank of petrol in the car so you can drive home for free!

The car is on sale from the first bid, I'd like to see it go to an enthusiast and not to someone who's going to break it for bits, but the winning bid is the winning bid.

This is your chance to own a bargain, a genuine 150mph estate car that gets to 60mph in 6.1 seconds, it will surprise most other drivers who don't know what the S2 badge means, but is also subtle enough to be parked anywhere without drawing unwanted attention.

I've tried to be honest with my description, I have 100% feedback which I want to keep, so if you are unsure of anything, get in touch or preferably come and have a look and we can take it for a spin.

Genuine bidders only please, if you have less than 10 feedback or a poor rating please get in touch before bidding or the bid will be removed. You are bidding to buy and not to haggle after the sale, so again, try to come and see the car before bidding.

I require £100 cash or paypal within 24 hours of the sale and the balance in cash or bankers draft within 3 days.

I think that's about it, if there are any questions please get in touch.

Thanks for looking and good luck with your bids.

Starts at £1500 and I'm looking at offers just over 2k, come and have a look, Barnsley's a lot closer than Swansea!

I'll try to get the photos up but I haven't uploaded to this site before so bear with me.

PM if your interested and I'll give you my number.

The interior pics look a bit washed out but that's due to the bright sun and parp camera combination! Much darker in reality.
