Would like to find some audi caliper brackets off:
Audi 80 Quattro 1984-86
Audi 90 1984-86
Audi Coupe (5 cyl inj) 1984-88
Needed for conversion for MK 1 to mk2 16v 256mm front brake settup.

how about some G60 carriers and use the S2 twin pots.
Ok, i am listening. Do these fit on the 256 discs? is it a straight fit on the mk1 strut? Have you got any? if so how much?

ill have a look whats about. cant rememeber what i did with them. there were 2 types of mk1 hub. one with narrow lugs the opthe rthe wider IIRC.
you will need the 280mm discs from a G60 too. also needs some G60 size wheels. ie ones that clear a 280mm. so its 15" with a 38mm offset IIRC.
others may be able to add here.
id pop over to the corrado-forum. another top forum. sure somebody can help there. if not plenty of 256mm 16v setups there. corrado came in 8v, 16v, G60 and VR6.
Got the discs and calipers with pads already, just need the carriers to finish the kit! Running 15" G60 steels already so clearance should be fine. Didn't realise the hubs changed, thought all mk1s were the same. Gonna have a measure next time the wheel is off then.

could fit post 92 80 carriers and discs and use the same caliper there 280mm and fit under 15s or a4 calipers, carriers and discs are 288mm and better caliper design
all this would mean re-drilling the disc but the carriers would bolt straight up
or go down local breakers see they any upto 1991 audis about
I used VR6 brakes and G60 discs an it all bolted on.. are the VR6 same as S2 although one pot instead of two makin them different i suppose. it was a long time ago
suppose you have put the discs on the rear using Mk 2 stub axles and all the other bits caliper etc and sirocco 16 v rear hand brake cable it stopped nice. an again remember it was so easy.. an yet i still havent worked out how to get bigger brakes on the Avant.
These are all awesome suggestions and thanks but i already have the 256 grooved discs, fastroad pads, and the 16v calipers for the 256 discs. I am running 15" steels at the moment but would like the option of 14" alloys for that old skool deep dish flavour. So all that considered and the fact that i have just spent 800+ on engine and so forth means i really just need the audi carriers so i can fit this lot. Currently running about 180bhp with solid 239 front discs so keen to get something sorted:-)

Stick with your plan and get the Audi 90 type front brake carriers. Also fit a Mk 2 16v brake servo, you might also find out the part number of same and see what other VAG cars it came on, such as a Passat of the correct vintage ?
By staying with 256mm you can switch between 14 and 15 inch rims.
TSR Somerset may still do the bracket that mounted the MK1 GTi carrier and the caliper out further when using / to suit a G60 280mm front disc, but as mentioned you'll need to stick with 15 inch rims using 280mm discs. 15 inch rims such as G60 Passat winter steel rims. If you need their part number ask. As I am sure you'll know you'll get loads of info on Edition 38 and / or Mk 1 Owners Club site.
I'm sure there's a Mk 1 caddy site also ?
As mentioned by another member above, I presume you've put discs on the rear and played around with the brake compensator on the back axle to adjust the front / rear balance to suit your driving style.
Use Mk4 Golf style rear calipers and get the necessary banjo brake hose connector from C & R Enterprises in Nottingham.
Done the master cylinder and 9" servo already to clear the dizzy on this
Photo is few days old now as it is just wiring to do now and fabricate the exhaust!
\leaving rear drums cos they are huge and don't do much but will fettle fronts soon as
