S2 ABY Coupe - Wanted!

Hiya

As above, as 'inexpensive' as possible please!

Doesn't have to be 'concours', but does have to be a sound, honest example for the basis of an RS2 upgrade in due course.

It will be used for occasional track work and 'Ring trips, so Porsche (or similar) brake upgrade and suspension improvements will also be on the cards...

I've recently missed out on a couple of cars on PH, does anyone on here know of a car that needs to go to a 'new enthusiast' home??

unfortunately am thinking of letting my beauty go!! I have a black s2 coupe n reg fsh black leather totally orig except i have back box milltek exhaust also powerflex bushes and koni shockers alround which makes the handling pretty good, shes covered 142k and is absolutely immaculate i have had the car for 9 years and would only sell to a good home therefore am not looking for crapy money has to be around the 6k mark.

Spend £5k on this one and most of the work is done for you. It is a false economy to buy and fit all the parts for an RS2 upgrade when you can buy a very good upgraded car already....

yeah its not the best colour is it, its emerald green and not black but if you want to go for the 2nd or 3rd choice colour thats fine.

If the biggest problem with an S2 is the colour, then I think you are doing very well. (emerald green s2 owner here )

When I was looking for an S2 I ended up buying the best one that my money could buy and it just so happened to be red. Odd really because after my last red car I promised I wouldn't get another but in my opinion the S2 looked (and still does) immaculate.

Just need to refurb the alloys and it will be spotless.

colour is a priority am afraid but not the most important thing but i will always argue black is the best and thats my opinion and am sure theres plenty that will agree yeah my price might be high but does anyone out there want to give there pride and joy away for peanuts? i doubt it

Gall34 has an RS2 spec coupe for sale in the for sale section. Car has a lot of what you need including chassis and brake upgrades. Will save you a good few £ when it comes to getting 360+bhp.

Buy the green one, it was a totally standard car when I bought it and i spent bucks on it getting it to the current spec. Emerald also looks awesome after a good buff, i spend ages trying to find a decent straight one.

Colour should be the last thing on the list on a rare 15year old performance car, most girls I've met seem to put that top priority in a car rather than the mechanics & history behind it.

anthonys2 - Sorry mate, your car sounds a real treat but is beyond my budget...

Fat Audi 80, Robatron, Rusty, DarrenM, Dest - thanks all for the recommendation of Gall34's green example. I love the colour (there isn't a colour of S2 I wouldn't consider though! ) and have previously had a PM exchange with him... With factoring in the cost of RS2 IC, crossmember, Injectors & a new re-map it puts it beyond my budget too.

We'll see what else comes up. Thanks again in the meantime!

But you said you wanted to "RS2" one anyway, that one has some of the work already done!?
If you were'nt too bothered about the S8 wheels on it, you would be able to do a part ex with someone on herre for them 10 times over! That would get you some of the outlay back
