Wanted - Ambient Temperature Display (ATD)

    Hi Guys....

Dropped a right & left ballack at work to today...

Bored as no work to do...

I thought its about time I sorted out the "Lack" of working bulbs on the dash.... The ATD unit hasn't worked for years & the clock bulb went last night on the way home...

Anyway been looking at S2 Central today and found out how easy it is to get the dash out and replace the bulbs... So tried and all went fine....

Until I tried to solder in a new Grain of Wheat bulb with a 40 Watt Iron..... Guess what I fried the whole feck1ng unit....

So anyone got one WITH a WORKING Bulb to help out this :corey:

Another question anyone know how to replace the bulb in the Leadlight height adjuster switch on the main consol???? Had a look but cant see where the bulb is....

    Cheers!!!

    Ken....

Unusual for an ATD to die soldering a bulb. Might be worth taking it apart again and clean the contacts between the circuit board and LCD cover.

Headlight adjuster has a similar bulb soldered into it, pull the front cover off and see what colour the plastic reflector is, if its clear your going to need a red bulb, if its red is uses a clear bulb. They are fairly easy to take apart, all you have to do is unclip around the electrical connection and push it unit out of the casing. Next stage is to remove the plastic reflector from the circuit board, watch carefully for the little ball bearings and springs under the adjuster. Replace bulb and reassemble. I have some pics somewhere if you need them..

        Thanks for the info...

I will have a look at the ATD again tomorrow, but I thing I have completly knacked it!!

I did however have more success with the switch thanks to your tips....

Just got one more to do!!

You really have to break some of the black housing to get the switch out!!

Don't buy this, it is the sensor (thermistor) that is for sale here and *not* the ATD as depicted. People have been caught out by this before.
