    Wanted - Metal Dizzy Gear

    Would you believe it

Went to take AndyP and ChrisP for a trip in the 90 tonight. Got about 1 mile from home with not much stick and then it cut out at the traffic lights......

I checked everything in the rain and then got towed home. It pointed to the distributor so I flicked off the cap and the rotor is only spinning now and again!!!!

So can anyone get a metal dizzy gear to me ASAP!!!! I am driving down to combe in it on Friday afternoon...

use a big long screwdriver down between the rocker cover and the inlet manifold and smack all mary hell out of it, you can also use a smaller screw driver to help bend the metal out the way. it can be done i've still got the scars from doing mine.

also s2dude cut my battery tray in the middle (the bar that goes across) to help access which it did. Speak to quattrodan he had a dizzy with metal gear from me, not sure if he used it.

I can lend you a metal geared dizzy to get you going for the weekend if you need it.
        Cheers,
        Dan.

Just thought though the two spares I've got are 7A's anyone know if they're the same?

Some cars had them some did not, most likely case is at some point the gear was renewed if you find one.

They've both got metal gears but I didn't know if the 7a dizzys that I've got are a direct replacement for 3B and RR dizzys.
