    WTD, 10 V Turbo motor.

Right, it's happened again. The disease has struck once more. My simple 10v Coupe overhaul with five stud conversion and S2 brakes has gotten my modifying DNA going. I have often hypothetically considered put a 10 V turbo motor in my FWD Coupe, as well as sounding truly special and being a bit different it would go like stink, in the dry anyway. I was recently thinking about just fitting a cam but that would be gay, plain and simple.

I've recently found out that these motors can change hands for little more than a dirty weekend in Hull. So having missed Petes motor, which I would have crawled through nettles to get my hands on for the price it went for, I'm curious to see what other people may have got knocking around. I'd consider a non runner as long as it's complete with ECU, turbo, manifolds, engine loom, fuel metering head and all pipe work.

I'm not going to have much spare cash for the next couple of weeks, but if something comes up for the right price then I'm on for a deal.

Surely its not possible to get a 10v turbo engine for one pound thirty five is it?

If you are having problems with the K-Jetronic,i recently developed a nice kit for upgrading to EFI.Everything included:ECU,Harness, sensors, fuel rail, fuel pressure regulator, instructions.

      Just an option...

        engine

I have got a 10v turbo engine complete with k26 turbo and manifolds, it came out of a 200 turbo manual, i have the original ecu with it but no loom or i can supply a ur quattro (WR) ecu and complete loom which should work well as the engine is almost the same as the WR engine. The engine was sold to me as good by a genuine seller but i have never got around to testing it. I also have a few WR downpipes if needed.

        cheers,

        Dan.

With THAT much money to spend it shouldn't be a problem.

Actually, Lixie and I have met professionally. For my other sins, I'm one of the original 13 "Google Bionic Posters":

Since so many of the others are female or have religious reservations, etc., I get more than my share of "adult" sites to look at.

She asked Google for support in getting "sitelinks" working on her website - so I wound up giving her hints and tips. You can see her sitelinks if you search on her name:

I think she's one of only two or three one-person businesses in the UK with sitelinks - they're usually reserved for much larger sites.

We now return you to your scheduled programming - I know where there's a WR engine that needs pistons.

Definitely no loom, but I've got a couple of MAC01s lying about and a connector.

I think it's got a turbo and manifold - I'll check on Saturday.

a mate has just done this conversion on his cabby, he had to drill a hole in the bellhousing for a flywheel sensor on the 2wd box, the wastegate was the biggest pita as it hits the servo and the steering arm, then the issue of needing a vac pump for the servo or maybe if possible change the whole lot to the hydrolic setup, and the metering head top stops the bonnet on the offside from closing so some persuasion is needed in that area, just a couple of pointers for you if you already dont know, anyhoo good luck with it mate

Thanks for the info, I thought there'd be a couple of snags involving the the servo. What did your mate do to get round it?

I'm installing a 10v turbo into my 80 quattro (type 89 salloon) at the moment, I'm going to swap over the loom and the k-jectronic etc however depending on price this could be a go'er!

I look forward to your reply......

                          Cheers!

he reshaped one side of it with the good old faithful tapping stick and uses an electric vac pump, he has been looking at alternaters with a vac pump on the back like on diesel astra's but not got sidetracked with that idea at the moment.
