Update!!!

Looks like I'm going to be picking up a 1990 10 VT 100 Estate between Christmas and the new year. The car is fairly rough body wise with bits missing ect, however the engine is 100% complete, reasonably low mileage with good history and running. Sounds like the ideal doner vehicle for my requirements:mischeif:

Thanks for the info Peter, looks like a nice set up. However this project is supposed to be a budget affair so it's beyond my pocket.. The S2 requires the majority of my funds

he reshaped one side of it with the good old faithful tapping stick and uses an electric vac pump, he has been looking at alternaters with a vac pump on the back like on diesel astra's but not got sidetracked with that idea at the moment.

Is there any chance you could get some pic's of your mates engine bay, especially the waste-gate/servo issue.

Well I've now got a 10VT power plant in my possession, complete with a 1990 100 Avant attached. Those of you over on Classic Audi will know that I've decided to embark on a retro stealth project, I'm still going to give my old Coupe a major face lift, however I now feel a sports shed would provide more entertainment. I've always wanted to do something interesting with a T85 80/90Q, so I've now got to find a suitably cheap base car for this new venture. My ethos will be super light weight/stealth with as an original and basic outward appearance as possible. This is also going to be a budget project mainly to distract me from spending any more on further upgrading the S2, which incidentally is nearly finished and will soon be running and on the road come spring time 'maybe' with VEMS:mischeif:
