It is indeed turbo. I've been running it for 1000Kms now with a K26. Compression ratio lowered by use of NA 10V pistons and still using a 7A head.

Why I'm considering changing the pistons...
I got it running and was getting it tuned but then I discovered that the catalytic converter had fallen to bits and completely clogged the rear muffler, after I fixed that, I set a hard cut boost limit at 1bar but didn't adjust the tune or have knock sensing turned on either , went to check if it was boosting OK then the next time I started it up, I had this horrible tick that sounded like lifter but much louder, I've since replaced everything in the valve train that I think could make the noise and am beginning to think damaged piston after a recent leakdown test show up some irregularities. I'll make a project thread one day, but for now I've got enough on my plate getting the car sorted.

As for the head gasket, I'm using a metal head gasket I got from 034, which states that it fits engines with up to 82.5mm bore.
