    Wanted: Top Mounts

Does anyone have any top mounts lying around or can anyone recommend where to buy some?

    Cheers,

There are a lot of different types for all applications, budgets and tastes... I think s2central did a thread on it listing all types. I'm happy with my promounts and also with the 034 ones. OE ones work fine on the rear but arre not up to the job up front. Suggest something beefier up there.

what are peoples thoughts to the compbrake type spherical bearing type?

The bearings are £17odd each I think to replace when they wear out - they look good quality kit and i like the fact the bearings are cheap to replace - are they too harsh for the road?

            .

Though Bambridge was doing some as well? Replaceable bearings not sure.

              Top Mounts

I went Pro-Mounts on the front and Mount-Savers with standard topmounts on the back to save a few quid. Pro-mounts come in different thicknesses and I think each raises the ride height slightly over standard. I went for the least thick to minimise the ride height increase. I hope not to worry about replacing top mounts again.

Yes i have done some, and S2spike has some on his car, but still looking at a way of stopping the alum locking nut coming undone, apparently a fault with the sherical bearing top mounts?? without having to hammer s**t out of it!
Also thinking about some sort of washer between the mounts and car body

Simple, get a rubber washer or a large enough O-ring and you`re all set
Now you see me, now you don`t

Wouldn't a thread locking compound be satisfactory...not a permanent one of course?

I did a little research/design into some fancy mounts but costs for indestructible bearings were silly, funnily enough my design used an insulator too . Should finish it off as it will allow simple fitment of a rear brace and can accommodate offset for castor or camber...
