I sat in a few at autospot and have ruled I have stipidy expensive taste!!

Recaro Furious are FIA and about that new... Same with Pole Position. If you need FIA approval then make sure they're in date

Agree, most likely the ex-cupcar seats are out of date.

Seat date expires in 2-5 years from manufacturing, depending of the type of sport.
Everything less than 2 bar is considered to be naturally aspirated

I've always like Magnum seats myself.

I'll be using a set in my 90 and also in a project car we are building for a well known Off Road magazine.

If like me you are wide in the shoulder (cough), they can make a wider fitting seat to suit you.

Tell them Paul from Macsport4x4 in Ellesmere Port recommended them to you and I'm sure they will look after you.

          Paul.

Do you want normal width seats ?

I know of some Corbeau Revenge Carbon Kevlar seats for sale, with sidemounts, you may of seen them on ebay for £450 each.

My mate wanted them but they wont fit in his car but he did have a agreed price of £750 for both which is half what they cost new and they are unused.

Shoulder section measures 64cm if you need to have a measure up first.

Can't edit for some reason, the seats I mention are Excel not normal width.

Full dimensions are on their website and they are wide compared to most seats.

As it happens I don't need some FIA seats but if you hear of any that are excel (or GT) width but not massively wide around the shoulder area I would be interested.

Also need some 5 point harnesses too, but again they do not need to be in date for FIA

I think DarrenM mentioned that he can get Cobra seats for good money.

I can only assume Terry is going drag racing and thus needs FIA approval, or that he's not ruled out racing and so it's not worth getting something that isn't (we all know the addages about assumption tho )

Quite a broad fit, I am not that massive 6ft + but skinny.. I think i would need to sit in something like that to test fit them

                      Afraid not Drag racing.

James if it helps I have a contact to the owner of Motordrive.....
Check FIA website too, theres an update on a number of seats which have had material failures and are now excluded from Approval.

I understand use of FIA seat in high power car even if not racing. It is just as easy to hit the curb and flip the car on trackday than it is on race. Especially on street tires and high power. And it is only Your own *** on the line, at the end of the day...

but it's not recommended to use those FIA seats + 4/6point harness in cars without rollcage.
You can brake your neck if you will roll with the car, seat wont break apart, like ordinary passenger car seats, you will be bond to the seat if roof smashes
