      Cheers.

As I will be using this in a ur engine bay, but with an ABY engine, can anyone verify if there is room for this. I know DJones fabricated his own box but I don't know if that is because he decided to design something better than OE or whether there wasn't room for the OE airbox? (Don't want to pm him with yet another question)

Can anyone confirm - never saw an ABY airbox in the flesh to know the answer to this

AFAIK you need to weld a type 89/B4 inner wing in your type 85 to make it work. At least that is what I'll do.

I have a metal airbox base from a UR i was going to fit in the CQ20v but it dosent look like it will fit, the two mounts that fit into the rubber bushs seem to be in a different position.

I do like the sound of both cone and box!

have a look at the inner wing. it can make a nice large cool airbox. filter needs to be cleaned and oiled more though.

                    or extension to wing.

Think I will duct air through the inner wing as opposed to the front of car. These options below would appear to address my desire for both a cone and box. Any personal experience of either and any drawbacks.......

If you remove the bracket as shown in the pic, and drill two holes in the inner wing for the grommets to fit back into you can mount a 3b airbox with no other issues.
An ABY airbox is larger and will not fit without modification to the inner wing.
I have also tried the route of machining the UR ali airbox to fit the 3b lid but it sits at a different angle and fouls on the wastgate etc.
