Thanks for posting about this Andy.

It's not been mentioned in the thread, but the work that needs doing is fabrication of two custom subframes for a pair of Evo VIII Recaro bucket seats I'm hoping to fit in my B5 S4, which I've had sitting around since October last year. Frustratingly, Recaro no longer stock the OEM style subframes and there are none on the second-hand market, either in the the UK or in Germany.

Andy has kindly designed a robust set of bespoke subframes using simple sections of metal welded together, mirroring many features of the OEM/Recaro frames. It shouldn't take much to fabricate them, but will be very much apprecaited....particularly as I'm planning a trip to the 'Ring in June

        Any assistance much appreciated!!

I'm still looking for a fabricator after nearly 4 months! Every one I have dealt with thus far has let me down, I'm really not impressed so far. Anyway, still looking, Wab was interested but seems to have disappeared so will have to keep looking...

Most people are too busy to deal with one off's or little batches. You need to find a friend in the trade.

            Good luck with your quest!

I guess that's what I'm trying to do here but not found one for steel so far. I have an excellent alloy fabricator and Kev is great for CNC etc...

I have a friend over here that will do it, but is it worth the logistics?
