    i want an S2

Who's got what for about 2.5k???

Not really bothered about overall condition as long as the engine runs sweet as a nut!

Two sides to this one, saving a neglected s2 from certain death is a worthy cause.
Plus you know its straight because you sorted the gammy bits yourself.
Alot of folk get there jollys fixing rather that driving

            i do love the tinkering...

...but there is going to have to be a base level to work with, there must be some bargains out there!

The thing is, ropey mechanicals usually go hand in hand with ropey body work.
Not very often that you get one without the other!
But, yes, there can be bargains to be had.
Someone on here recently near enough gave away an S2 that just needed an MOT... it all depends on how quick you are, and how long you are prepared to wait.
And most importantly, are you after a Coupe or an Avant?

I would treat it like any other car, if the body is good it's worth having. Everything else bolts on but can cost a lot of money.

I paid 3200 for a well looked after last of the line s2 avant only thing was lack of service history in the middle of it's life, on the other hand though the previous owner had spent a small fortune recently saving me a minimum of a grand's worth of work

I waited nearly 10months to find mine though ad I was set on a spec and wasn't prepared on anything lower.

dest that is a good question!! i originally wanted an Avant for kite surfing stuff and bikes but... After trawling through the web i am tending towards a coupe. I can always get a bike rack and a roof rack ;-)

And i am with 86 style you can always cable tie wings and glue bits back on. As long as the grunt is there when you put your foot on the right pedal you forget about all the tatty bits!

I am with you, who cares what it looks like, infact, it is even better looking cr@p when you show someone a clean (dirty actually) pair of heels

Service history has never bothered me. Infact I'd rather an enthusiast looked after their car than a sh1tty spotty Audi 'tech' that has no clue, or care for their work!
