I read somewhere that these come new with a pre fabricated tension in them (for proper sealing), so a new one is preferd. Anyone knows if they still are available (have not checked with my own local supplier) form the stealers?

Any particular way you put it on the block James?
I have beaten my new assy to the death as I cant get it in, so now I need another one.

I noticed a small gap on lower innerside of the assy, and by the looks of it I fitted it on the lower side first, then pushed/knocked it carefully in on the top side. But that did not work.

Does it say anything in the bently manual or so about how to install it or have I got a oversized part that just wont fit?

          cheers,

Try removing alittle surface rust with some 600 grit sand paper maybe a few rough edges stopping it?
