    Wtd: Air ducting

Just before I buy something like this I thought i'd check if anyone has something lying around? ebay link

60 to 80mm would be a good size to get some more air channeled into my air box.
    cheers

I looked at cheaper hoses like that but to be honest it will be too close to hot components to risk it melting. There are also light foil ones but it wouldn't take much to rip them. I'll probably just order the hose I originally linked to, I just thought I'd ask in case someone has a similar one sitting around gathering dust

I'm using the aluminium stuff linked above, only 3" though. It's been on for a few months now and it's not torn or melted.

Really? Aha. Might be worth considering then. There's not much room where I need to run it and i'm just worried that a bit of movement could rip it. Of course if I keep it off hot surfaces it should be OK without melting. I had a section of cheaper stuff in my first 16v coupe and it seemed to fuse itself onto the side of the exhaust manifold and with a bit too much movement tore itself open. To be fair it might have been halfords tinfoil hose though.

4" ally stuff from Q&B, £6. It's cheap and simple but works.

                tumble dryer pipe is fine.

its for cold air feed so shouldn't be in the line of heat.

No problem with internal heat. It's just great big bloody engine taking up a lot of room in the engine bay means the hose will be pretty close to some hot bits.
