im sure its a straight swop with VAG bits to swop the 044 pump, my A4 used old audi V8 stuff, got part numbers and prices if your interested, pumps go for approx £200 and bits needed from dealers were about £80.

if an 040 runs over 500hp flowing 1/2 of an 044 that should make a 044 good for nearly 1000hp.

looking at the pdf jamo the 040 flows roughly 100 lph less than the 044? higher pressure though.

Hmm...
I have seen that people claim that the 040 has a similiar flow rate to the 044 but that data sheet seems to suggest otherwise. Pretty sure 034 (the company) tested the pumps and did a graph but I can't find it now. They have put some data on their site which I'll summarise:
044 - 265L/hr @ 55lbs 255L/hr @ 75lbs
040 - 176L/hr @ 55lbs 159L/hr @ 75lbs
005 - 224L/hr @ 55lbs 208L/hr @ 75lbs
I am not sure where the 040 comes from. I thought it was effectively a Bosch replacement for stock. Not familiar with the 005 either but it looks on paper better than the 040.Comment
