As above. It's the thing that's held on with 3 bolts that has the spring in it for keeping tension on the accessory belt. Broke mine tonight while tinkering and car is off the road till its fixed. Cheers.

I am not sure *how* you broke it but this might help you fix it or, if necessary, order a new one:

Good link cheers it broke as a number of factors came together. A stuck mounting bolt, a bad mood, a hammer and a chisel.. yep I'm a ****. Still need a tensioner. Someone must have one someplace. Audi must charge for this I recon. Cheers des

got a spare one here its SH, replaced mine trying to trace a squeak from the belts, which transpired to be the belt itself.

des, Euro car parts keep everything like this on the shelf i find, nd if its not then its there within 4 hours!

our garage does spend a lot with them and we are near their main warehouse but if your stuck next time maby worth a try!

            glad your sorted

and i know how you feel with the tensioner, imagine trying to get it off after you have had the 2mile old timing belt let go........ i removed mine in many parts with several blows after i saw the bolts were rounded off lol

            Sean.
