Seen a A4 3.0L v6 for sale but says the computer screen in broken?

Is this easy/cheap to fix or replace, anybody know?

might need the whole speedo unit replaced, in which case you can get one easy enough from a breakers when one comes along but you'd need audi (or someone with quite advanced gear I think) to reprogramme it to your car. I would suggest you phone your nearest dealer, tell them you're thinking about buying this car but would need to find a replacement speedo unit/screen. Ask how much they would charge to reprogramme it if you bring another used one. Then use that figure as a bartering tool to get discount off the car. Even better, use the price audi would charge for selling you the unit as well. Make sure you have someone with vagcom go with you to plug in and read any fault codes in case the broken screen is hiding any faults that would otherwise be displayed there.

There are 2 or 3 3.0 V6 B6 A4s that are on ebay being broken so you could get a price for the speedo unit pretty quickly
