    Urgent, rear-diff mount

    Hey guys,

My projects been put on hold at the minute becuase i'm struggling to find parts. I desperatly need a rear diff bracket and bush (the rear mount) for an S2 coupe. Audi want £130 for the bracket and bush and it would appear i can't buy the bush separately.

Could also do with a rear driveshaft.

    Cheers

£130.....jeez that almost double what i paid for a new one about 6 years back when i got one via QST.

Audi don't half take the p*ss with pricing

Like i say, Lister's audi of Brum would not sell me the bush separately. I took the bush to Midland VW and he contacted his supplier quoting the part number on the bush itself (i presume its the same number as the one you've quoted, but i will check). Initially i was told i could get the bush -£14 - no problem, only to find that it had been discontinued when i went to collect the part.

Do you think if i quoted the number to my local Audi dealer they would agree to get the part in? I actually looked on the ETKA parts programme with the salesman when i went to the showroom, and sure enough the part was not available separately.

IIRC its a VW part not an Audi one so your average parts moneky wouldn't know how to find it on ETKA
I had heard it was NLA now though, i was after one a while back.

Ouch it's NLA? Lister in Birmingham trust me don't bother with those Muppets had my fair share of dealings with them

Try TPS, speak to S2avant on the forum

If not get the powerflex part

                  NLA.....strikes again.

Still owed a response from Audi on NLA that i raised a couple of months back after the debacle on the a/c pipe i ordered from them...still nothing

IIRC this is an engine mount bush from a MK1 golf or similar?
Just wondering if there might be an aftermarket replacement supplier a la Febi etc?

The Mk1 engine mount idea was also mentioned by Jody and Mid VW. Only trouble is the hole in that bush is offset, unlike the S2 diff mount...******.

Had a quick look on the powerflex site, can anybody point me in the right direction? http://www.powerflex.co.uk/products/...%29-102/1.html

offset by how much? 10mm maybe?
The subframe hole is slotted, i'm confident it would work

Thanks for the various advice guys, very much appreciated. I'll give the powerflex bush a try, as it seems like a nice upgrade aswell.
