I'm after the piece that bolts down to the roof of the car, the sort of cone shaped bit that the beesting screws into...Anyoe know where to get the or an equivalent?

There are several on eBay at the moment e.g.

The thing to watch is that many/most/all(?) of our cars have a base with a built in amplifier in it - you can tell by the extra single wire going into the base as well as the aerial co-ax feed.

You could buy one without the amplifer like the one above and try it and if you do need an amplifier buy an in-line amplifier off eBay for around £9.
