Shipping to SA is the problem.

Im at the moment trying to get a good quote (or the buyer is) for a pallet of parts to go over there by Sea.
If he can get a good quote and you can source the parts maybe it can be sent on my pallet and you can share the shipping costs which for the above from the UK would be in the hundreds anyway..

At present it seems like there are some people that have a problem with theft of parts coming to SA, another supplier has already indicated that he is not willing to send to SA.

Strange I have purchased Blu-rays from the UK, shirts from LFC AND Everton without problems, shipping costs are high though.

I know how much the new parts will cost from Audi SA and depending on what I can get parts for from overseas plus the cost of shipping them to SA it may end up not be worth the effort.

If I find the right parts at the right price then we can arrange something.

        Shipping

        Hi mate

        Great to see you...........
The problem stems from the workers in the depos,.............either at harbour/airports.....thats where items go walking..............

My parents had boxs missing on their consignment, from the harbour.....in Cape Town.

I coming to South Africa in December for xmass, new year this year, seeing wifes family ,first time in eight years , landing in Joberg, going to Pitrosville(spelling????)in Northern Cape..........

could possibly try to bring over smaller items if there is no rush for anything

        cheers

          Hi John,

Thanks for the offer I may take you up on it, just thinking about the S2 TO RS2 conversion may be a bit heavy lol.

          Enjoy your trip.

            Hey Orsum

Hope you come right with the parts you require. Geoff Mortimer of NXGen is currently doing my RS2 to RSR conversion in JHB. Are you in JHB or CPT?

              Hi mastermind,

I am based half way between Durban and Richards Bay,as of yet I have not found the parts I need.

I also though about Geoff Mortimer converting my S2 to RS2 but my thinking at present is to leave it as standard as possible, it has 99,600km on the clock and is still under the SA FWP.

I am not convinced at this stage that the conversion for my car is the right thing to do, it sounds like you have a nice job on your hands.

Ok, now I know which car it is, I would say keep it standard until something gives up the ghost.

It is probabaly only one of 2 Audi S2's in the world that is still under a full factory Motorplan. I'm not sure if anyone on here knows that Audi SA offered a 100 000km full freeway plan that covers all services and parts with no age limitation

This was offered on the A8 and a very few other models just as Audi launched the A4 in SA and was building the brand to take market share from the other Germans
