Sonic, clean the cap on the PAS reservoir. There's a level switch in there and it gets clogged up and stops working properly. If the bomb test gives a sensible result, then I'd suggest looking there
I replaced mine 3 years ago, it was £15 at the time

If you pass the bomb test it will be a level sensor playing up somewhere or even low fluid itself.
My bomb has been giving (!) for the last 6 years when first started but it still has 50 pedal pumps in it...

you can also try pulling the connectors off the pressure sensor on the servo - if that cures your problem either the sensor is dead of the bomb is on the way out
IIRC the ones Paul sells are the Febi items, so OEM quality. Pete @ QC also offers them but for a lot more money last time I checked.Panthero Coupé quattro 20vt

Hi,
Undo the top brake pipe from the servo (thats the return), few drops - your ok. Anything more and the servo is knackered. I was getting the (!) in red on mine. Brake bomb was ok (went solid on the 41st push of the brake pedal).
I undid the top brake pipe and more oil gushed out than the mexican gulf. Could also be a dodgy pressure switch (think this has been mention in the post? sorry if it has been)
