IME the earlier ones seem to stay better condition, I'm sure they used thinner / cheaper steel on the ABY ones

yeah Gav's one doesn't look like it would much like the stick you'd give it James, especially with slicks for normal use it might brush up ok if thats surface rust - hard to say from the photo. I had one a while back which looked ok but on closer inspection the brackets for the rear tie rods were rotten through.
