Urgently looking for urs4 drivers rear caliper for MOT

Does anyone have a spare working rear caliper for drivers side rear urs4-1994. As my audi just failed mot on sticking rear caliper and only have 10 days before I have to do full re-test Would buy both sides if that suited more. Cheers

Thanks for the info, will see if I can get a recon one, was just hoping someone had a good secondhand one somewhere.

Not quite - surely the AAN rear Calipers are the wide type for vented discs. This appears on RR quattro and 200turbo avant from memory.

Simple rule is if the car has solid rear discs it will have the narrow/wrong Calipers for AAN.

I also need a couple fresh ones as that's what I run on my rear upgraded brakes. Handbrake woes as usual...

Pete: In the ETKA diagram above the "423" caliper is for the right side and the "424" caliper is for the left side. This goes against the numbering convention. Any ideas why this is so?

That is curious alright. What version family album is that screenshot from.
I forgot the v8 ABH engines had the vented rears too - not uk models sadly but might help via german eBay or whatever.

Found an eBay trader in uk called parts direct is showing them for £116 each with £30 return for an exchange and free postage. These are refurbed items but my experience of professional refurbs is very good - they have new internals and good repaint.

Is there a guide anywhere for stripping these calipers? Mainly the handbrake mechanism. Mine, despite only being a couple of years old ( from brand new, not refurb! ) are starting to stick

I've been looking for it as well - there is a link to one from the forum somewhere - memory that it require some mad shaped circlip pliers and/or special tool to refurb the handbrake mechanism. Will have to search the archives here too - pretty sure I have a girling doc somewhere.

its down to if it's leading or trailing so 423 is o/s on urs4/6
