    S2 front calipers

    I'm on the hunt for a pair of S2 front calipers to refurb and fit to the front carriers of my mk2 Golf project.

    With all you guys doing big brake conversions one of you must have a set gathering dust and can pass them on down to a lowly Golf lover like myself.

    I just have not seen them fs anywhere.

    Either pm, (mk2_16v@hotmail) or 07791001385

    It's not a matter of urgency more a flight of fancy. Thanks for looking !

            Check out Pete Sibley's build thread on Club GTI (red mk.2 16v track car), I found some Vauxhall Meriva 25mm thick discs that require minimal modification and work a charm with the Girling G60 calipers He's running stock Pagid pads on track and they don't fade; loads of thermal mass = very reliable braking

              I use black diamonds groved g60 280mm discs which are 22mm thick and need no mods (less effort) with the larger 23mm mc and braided lines and ferrodo 3466 pads which are nothing short of bloody amazing on the road.
              If I was going to track the car then it'd be performance friction bells, rotors and some brembos from a seat cupra, its a little over kill for the road and way more expensive.

              @ SE_30 Any luck fella with finding the calipers ?

                I have some left in good condition.

                  @sparx

                  Hold tight please, though they do look in very good condition but I'd like to try find some a little closer to home.

                  Thank you though.

                    Sorry mate my fault, I'm working 7 12's at the minute and when I got home last night I just forgot. I have put a reminder on my phone and will take a pic and email you it when I get home tonight. I have not used them because they came with a load of bits that I bought, though they do look grand. How's about £60 plus postage sound?

                        You get a lip on the lower section of the pads with the G60s and they're 3mm thinner than the S2 25mm discs, so get thicker pads if you can.
