Not sure if I am asking the right question, can I get hold of the software for my laptop to do checks on my S2? If so how much is it?

but you could go for the cheaper copy cables, they are called 409.1 Vag-com + a cheap 2x2 cable on the bay.

There have been a few threads and group buys for chinese cables and the like, search the forum before you buy anything. I have the original serial Ross Tech cable too, great bit of kit but they aint cheap. If you work on a lot of VW/Audi group cars they are essential.

goto www.ecutool.com - vag diagnostic - cable 10.63 - pay them 18quid and a week later you will get the best value for money item you are likely to buy.does everything vag upto 2011.yes it is slighty dodgy,probably made in a chinese sweat shop,but it ****ing well works.not many cheap chinese things you can say that about.you will still need a 2x2 cable for an s2 by the way(plugs in)

gGo to the rosstec web site, put in the product key that's on the "cable" it will then download the software to your lap top - then plug and play
