TORSEN Diff

Take a look at the back of the garage and see if you have a TORSEN diff you don't need or want to sell.

Thanks. Wasn't aware URS4 had rear TORSEN diff. Anyone else confirm this. Struggling to get infor from my sources.

Only the V8 had the rear TORsen fromt he factory, the URS4/6 is a normal open diff.

only the audi 200 v8 from 88-93 had the thorsen in the rear end from factory..chassi called D11 look similar as the 44chassi; other cars from audi did NOT have thorsen; audi 100 and 200 and smallchassi audi 80/90/s2 did have the lock up diff..

Still plenty of confusion on this subject!
Anyone got part numbers on the actual diff or some detailed photos for ease of recognition for a visual inspection.

There is no confusion here, the torsen only comes from the V8, easy to identify, it has V8 written on it and it also does not have the diff lock lever that all the other standard lockable diffs have.

There is a v8 rear diff thread sticky and a few more on here.

If you search the for sale section you can get prices.

Sometimes fold breaking v8s on ebay will sell them cheap.

and you NEED TO GET the axle flanges with it, or you cannot use it in place of the open front diff in an 01E.....
