    Wanted. 1.8T Lightweight SM Flywheel.

First of all I apologise for the non-S2 part request, but please spare me from having to communicate with the general audi/8L/8N masses.
I'd rather appeal to the broad knowledge of my friends here.

I'm after a lightweight single mass 240mm flywheel for an S3/TT quattro (8L/8N), to replace the dual mass 06A 105 266 P. I've already got a Spec 6kg billet steel single mass flywheel on one of the 1.8Ts, and would like another.

But is a Spec from the US my only option, or do you know of any other options? As you know buying stuff from the US doesn't have the same appeal that it did 3 years ago.

I remember some Finns had something brewing years ago when I got my S2's CrMo flywheel, but I'm not sure what happened to them.

if you need stuff forwarded on from the US, i do this all the time for people....

but Spec, Clutchmasters, Clutchnet, Southbend, they should all have these, as far as companies who manufacture. companies who sell? Integrated Engineering, Ringer Racing, 034, Bahn Brenner, Techtonics Tuning, tons and tons of companies....

are these what you are looking for?

Thanks for the offer Aaron, I may have to take you up on it.

I've already got a Spec SA81S-3, which I got over 3 years ago, and I'm pretty pleased with it.
I also got a Clutchnet carbon clutch last time, but this engine only makes 332Nm (245 lbs/ft), enough for a winter hack. A stock clutch has help up fine for over 155k miles, including countless clutch sidesteps. So I'm thinking an uprated one would be overkill.

G60/VR6 bits are 228mm. I have this setup in my (wife's) MRC tuned Golf 1.8T and it's fine. Unfortunately the 4WD versions use the bigger 240mm flywheel/clutch setup.

yeah, the G60/VR6 do use 228mm.....

and yeah the 02M stuff is 240mm.

but i would think, if the clutch disc splines interface fine that one could use the 228 in a 240 application.

is the g60 flywheel flat? and bigger enough to hold a 240mm pressure plate(if 1 that fits exist lol)
just due to my 90q 1.8t slipping the clutch im going to use a 1.9tdi 80 flywheel with bolt holes redrilled to suit a 7a clutch and pressure plate as its a tried and tested method used by a4 owners. maybe theres a diy/cheaper solution for the transverse engines...

I've just done my first 034 Motorsport order. A Spec flywheel should soon be on its way to Aaron in the US, to be relayed to me in the UK.
Lets hope the operation goes smoothly for all involved.

Now Mr s2avant, I need a clutch please. TPS order on its way.

I thought you might. That's partly why I chose them for the order.
Many thanks for your help Aaron.

Many thanks to Aaron. My Spec flywheel turned up today.
I couldn't wish for a more helpful US contact.

Now I just have one car to get through an MOT, a cambelt to do, then I can fit this thing along with a new clutch. That will be nice.
One day I may even get time to work on my S2.
