Well that is asking a bit much from a head unit designed before MP3 players even came out. If you want that kind of functionality, you will need to move to a newer unit unless you are REALLY good with hacking electronics. CD changer controls could potentially be adapted to control a different player, but would be a boatload of work for something so easily done by a later unit.

There is no MP3 'standard' and the closest to a standard would be Apple Ipod control, as many manufacturers cater to them based on the massive amount of them in use.

What kind of MP3 player are you trying to integrate?
