Don't exclude an urS4 or even better urS6, never thought too much about them until I got an urS6, (auto), and now I'm completely smitten, desperately underrated by a lot S2 owners, as I was.

They handle very nicely, easy to work on in the "open plan" engine bay, and comes standard with a front entry inlet manifold. Big intercoolers for behind the bumper are readily available, to repalce the smaller one mounted at the side. Also RHD ones can commonly come with "digital" climate control, which only came in LHD B4s.

Anyway, enough of the sales speal.

Hope the above is of some help.

Best wishes for a successful purchase of an S car.

          Kind regards.

One of the reasons is that people don't think much of them, and this makes them cheap, which in turns means a good few have been parted out to provide mechanical bits for S2s. i.e. the engine and gearbox, amongst other bits.

Oh yes, forgot to mention that I have five B4s, so not biased towards a urS4/6.

I do prefer the saloon to the Avant when it is a urS4/6.

think most people are put off advertising s cars as the price has dropped thru the floor with them currently and why most are getting broken.

Agreed, while I know you have not inferred it, the drop in sales prices achieved doesn't mean there's anything inherently wrong with S cars, but just that current owners need to be able to put up with comparatively poor petrol consumption, be able to work on the cars themselves, and have money to be able to sink into, what can sometimes seem like a bottomless pit, but once the car is sorted and you have the money for petrol they are a real joy.

I think now is the time to acquire an S car(s) as presumably they can't get much cheaper before they get scarce. Hopefully I'm right, but don't quote me.

Jeepers, just as well I don't have the money otherwise I'd drive up tonight. Controlled drugs would be less of a problem for me.

The right colour, black leather with carbon trim, manual, an S6, and with apparently below average miles all sounds perfect.

Front drivers wings looks like it may have been sprayed, assuming it was only an small denting incident would not deter me.

It's ironic that is it this side of the water, normally all these interesting / tempting car are across the water, makes it all the more agonising for me.
