What colour is this?

Can anybody tell me what colour this car is? I need to do the mirror casings but I can't find the colour code anywhere, its not in the boot where it should be. I've seen the colour on 80 models before, its a sort of maroon metallic. If any of you know what the code is let me know..cheers

You don't say what year your C4 is. However as a 100 or UrS4, the colour is cyclamen, not ruby red pearl effect. The ruby came later:

Ring up your local Audi dealer, speak to the parts deparment, give them the reg and they will tell your your paint code. Thats what i did with my 16v quattro

As Shaun says, it works for lots of things / information on your car, including spare keys once you provide evidence of ownership.

No. The one that was a a Romanian website a few years ago did everything, down to the DAY of build and all the options. But that site was killed.

I have just sent my vin to s2avant who kindly offered to check it for me, tried the vin decoder on s2central but it doesnt give me that information.

Urs4boy: Thanks for the info, the car is a 95 reg, I'll wait to get the vin checked for a more definitive answer, can't imagine what happened the original options sticker, doesn't look like it was ever there?

Shaun - Thanks I had never thought of that for such an old car, my brother bought a 09 s line recently and he gets letters from the local audi dealership asking him to call in so they can check the water, oil tyres etc. I dont get letters like that

C4 UrS4 Build Tag and VIN location info

If you have an UrS4, with the rectangular front grill (as opposed to the trapezoidal grill of the UrS6) and black bumper and side trim not the colour coded smooth bumpers and side trim of the UrS6, I cannot understand how an UrS4 could be "95" registered. The last UrS4 was build in July 1994, and has an "RN" VIN. VINs are either in a small window on the dash or stamped into the edge of the cowl (see photo of my 98 C4 Avant VIN) below. The build tags with the options are under the carpet in the boot, as shown in the photo below. Should have the colour code showing on the build tag (see below)
