I'm in the area, work in Aylesbury, but my VAGCOM cable is up with the car in Northampton

I'll be up there on Saturday, so could pick it up then, if that's any use?

Or if you can get a cable i have my laptop with VAGCOM already running.

No idea what the IQ setting is... but we can get fault codes and look at the group readings to try and diagnose what's happening.

I'll have the cable on saturday, and should be available over the weekend or one evening in the week if that's of any help? I'm up in Winslow north of Aylesbury.

            Yeah I know Winslow.

Hopefully I the car will do me over the weekend until your available.
The IQ is something to do with the fueling as its got electronic throttle. Basically is hunting on idle and judders at low revs. Anyway like you said if we can run the codes and go from there.

If you let me know when you will be about then we can go from there, I should be free obver the weekend and most evenings.

A diesel does not have a throttle at all.
              IQ is injection quantity.

Got Simon with me now but we can't get VAGCOM connected.

it can detect the serial connection fine, but during the line test says "Ross-tech Compatible: No" and any attempt to actually open coms fails.

                    Any ideas?

You need to change "Start baud" . Put 250 and try . Why hardware do you use with VAG COM ?

Managed to get connected with VCDS lite, i was trying to use 409, and access fault codes and group 1 which had the injection quantity value we were looking for.

The injection qty was hovering around 0.2-0.8mg whereas it looks like it should be ~3mg. We tried adjusting it up from 128 to 132, but it wouldn't let us go any higher and the injection quality didn't appear to respond much although the engine tone did.
