    A6 (c4) Strut brace

Has anyone got a strut brace that will fit an Audi A6 (C4) ?

Or does anyone know if its even possible to get one that will fit an AEL diesel engine A6 like mine?

Would be nice if it also fitted with the engine cover left in-place. cheers

The ur S6 one will fit, you will need to get 2x strut covers, brace bar and the ur S6 brake fluid reservoir as the standard tdi one fouls the brace (ur S6 one is offset to the rear, rather than central) I got mine from TPS,(will try and find p/nos) reasonable price too and had the reservoir from spink. Is this worth fitting Dubmeister? Have you noticed much of a difference?

Why would you want a strut brace on a diesel? They are barely needed on an UrS4/S6. Probably needed for track days but tracking a diesel?

IF you wanted to add the parts the brackets are the 4A0805635 and 636 and the bar (connecting pipe) is 8A0805645A.

thanks for the info... as said, it can't hurt. i'm sure a 170 bhp diesel is quite capable of going quick and being thrown around... just takes longer to get the speed up compared to a AAN. I've seen plenty of far less powerful petrol cars with strut braces . And with any luck, with a few more mods i hope at some point to have similar power to the ANN on tap. :mischeif:

Don't know if you've ever driven a tweaked AEL quattro, but its easily the best car i've driven. It goes like a petrol and the only time i'm aware it is a diesel is when the engines cold or when I run out of revs. Other than that it pulls really well to the limiter and I'm always impressed by the torque in 6th gear, I keep having to check what gear I'm in cause it feels more like 4th!

When i picked my best mate up in it for the first time his first reaction as i pulled away was "are you sure this is a diesel?! "

Off topic but what kind of mpg are you seeing from the AEL?

its at its best on the motorway..

according to the computer... if I drive with the cruise control set at 60mph on the motorway up to liverpool the instant reading is around 62 mpg . but if i put my foot flat to the floor it drops to like 8mpg lol

I've only ever filled it to the brim once, and that was a year ago after i got it (cost me £115 at the time) and I drove it like a granny to shrewsbury and back and then filled it up again, i can't remember the exact figures but i worked it out at about 50+ mpg . But that was with my right foot in super economy mode. lol

Cool. I am liking the 1.9tdi economy, but some more go would be nice as its a bit gutless at speed.
