We had a toad on a previous car, was reliable and had good features. All depends on the installer really. If they do a good job, it is likely the alarm will work properly...

lol... I took my S2 to a local alarm fitting place to get a certificate as previous owner had lost it!! When I said Clifford Concept 50, they laughed and said in the trade they were nicknamed the 'Comeback 50' due to failures. Strangely it all checked out OK, locked doors, glasss tamper, immobilser etc so got my certificate. But on using the car the 50 had an annoying habit of locking the doors randomly and arming the alarm whilst I was sat in it, and the user guide - well! I ended up leaving it un-armed and cut the siren wire as everytime the battery was going flat it shouted! PITA, could remove but last time I insured it they wanted a Cat1. No one says it has to be armed lol...

But - now this is the interesting bit. Whilst doing some work under the dash I was trying to stuff the alarm back up and un-plugged the large control box and blow me down it starts and drives.

Just remembered, also had a Cobra on my other Audi and that didn't go wrong either. I also have a basic Clifford on my current Audi 80 and that is fine too.

                    Does that help?

I have a Selca on my S2 and it's been very reliable. I've had Toad alarms too and they seem pretty good.

There was Clifford on the S2 when I bought it and the car wouldn't start if you went anywhere near it's wiring.
