Probably like the C4 sedans and avants. The outers are similar but different. In a pinch, you can use a C4 avant outer on a C4 sedan outer location, and vice versa. But they are different and an eye for detail would pick it out.

Not trying to argue. Just suggesting that within the Audi family, if the PN is different, the parts are often very likely different, even in a small way.

That isn't the case with the B3 sedan and B4 avant lights. They are the same design, unlike the C4 variants.

Luckily for those with avants the US all red B3 sedan lights are a direct replacement for the 80 avant, S2 avant, and RS2.

Yes, B3 sedan and B4 avant lights are interchangable i.e. same shape, bolt pattern etc etc... only reason the B4 avant part number is different because they made them look all read blinking orange.

Now I've on ebay some green lamps and I need too these tail lights.

Tom, in your photo any difference in colour is not that apparent. Is the difference in colour more obvious in real life ?

Can you confirm / post the two respective part numbers for the left and right hand side of the red B3 outer lights ?

I'd say you could sell all the second hand sets you can lay your hands on.

Are they still available from your local US dealer? and if so how much are they new ?

I'd be interested in any third set if you come across such a set.
