8a0419787b The little sleeve that packs out the steering column on a pre-'95 car to enable later column switches to be fitted (the ones with a larger diameter centre bore)
Stupid price from VAG here in NZ and presently on backorder with VAG-UK
If its back order in the uk is the price better than NZ TPS?? Just order it up will come from Germany in a few days. Or might show nla. Will Tps uk ship to your location or needing it picked up and sent to you??

Do you want this sleeve because your "new" three spoke airbag steering wheel isn't cancelling your signal lights? If so, you could modify your clockspring on the steering wheel and move the cancellation "pin" inwards. In your case, I would find an normal A80Q clockspring to mod (keeping your OE clockspring).
Here are some hints based on putting an UrS6 three spoke sport air bag steering wheel into an UrS4 with the four spoke air bag steering wheel location:

No, I want the sleeve because without it the correct later column switches with larger centre hole that properly match the wheel and clockspring for a '95 or newer car simply do not fit.
Done all the homework, know all the work-arounds, and want to do it the right way ... with the sleeve, cheers

Don't know about early/late S2s but with the UrS4/UrS6 switches there is LOTS and LOTS of fun figuring out and swapping the switch pins (NOT plug and play UrS4 to UrS6and vice versa). Good luck.

LOL, nah .... that part was a piece of cake - already done; as long as you have a donor like an A4 post-1995 with the correct plugs from the loom to start with
I used to fix IBM mainframe computers in the 70's ...... a few wires is a walk in the park
Isn't that when you debugged the computer, you used a Hoover to remove the moths from around the vacuum tubes and mechanical relays?
I suggest getting a machine shop to roll you a spacer.
No, it's when you used latch-cards to trace bugs in any one of hundreds of small boards, and could actually see the memory operating as the ferrite cores flipped one way or another
Suggesting I would get a machine shop to roll me a spacer shows that you have no understanding of the working of the OCD mind! It's either factory original, or nothing
It's starting to look like a dealer in the UK is going to be able to ship me one faster than I am going to find one in the forum
ah yeah. I got as far as taking the steering wheel off but one of the torx bolts for the airbag ****ed up as it was seized solid.i will have a go at drilling it out in next few days
On a worthless 4-spoke wheel I think I have been able to pull the flexible rubber side of the wheel down far enough to get vice-grips in there in the past, while bending the internal metalwork for the circuitboard, but of course if the wheel has value then you won't want to be doing it that way

Thanks for your efforts
