Central locking actuator for open/closing tailgate

I am looking for a Central locking actuator for open/closing the tailgate on my avant. The rubber has split.

It has a rod which connects to the lock (back of where the Key goes)
There is 2 securing screws which holds the actuator in place.

893862153D = very common on the Type 44s, B3s and B4s back to as early as 1985. Might find one at a breakers.

the one for an a6 avant is specific for a c4 a6/s6,I recently had to find one for mine.Air pipe connectors are a different size and it is located in a different place to a c4 100/s4(I have a s4 tailgate sat around)

they are about £35 from audi,took me quite a while to find a used one

However, contrary (sorry ) to what you suggest, 4A9862153A, seems to be the lock avant lock actuator for the C4s (100s, A6, UrS4 and UrS6) 1991 to 1997. At least that is what my friend Kate in the parts dept. told me.

So does it depend on the the tailgate. The tailgate is a6 but it has a urs4 rear panel with the handle seperate to the panel.

Yes thats the same part number but a6/s6 have larger airpipe connectors than the 100s(on all 5 doors),they are the same size as what the b5 a4s have from late P reg on.on my kate it is specific to a6 and s6.i wish i had just bought a new one as i spent a fair few hours pissing around trying to find a used one to suit
