When I did the rear lights on my old S2 coupe I used TigerSeal / Sikkaflex worked perfectly. You can buy it from Euro Car Parts

The Audi stuff is best - A box has 4 rolls of the mastic cord & cost about £40 - 1 roll is enough for two rear lights

It is the "mythical rear light sealant". Hope someone finds it useful.

Comes in a 10 metre box (4 lengths of 2.5m) for about £32.50'inc VAT.

Its apparently re packaged 3m strip caulk according to Phil Payne.
