WTB - "new" RS2 Hybrid Turbo, Injectors & Chip

As per title, I am looking to buy a new yet to be fitted Hoffer RS2 hybrid.

The alternative would be to buy a old RS2 turbo in need of a rebuild.

Also want to buy five new style injectors - one step level from standard RS2 injectors ? If anyone has advice on where to buy these new, with the necessary electrical adaptors and the physical adaptors to seat them into the inlet manifold ?

I've lowered my bhp target, and looking to put the car back into daily service sooner rather than later, using kit that will bolt on easily.

    Thanks for any feedback.

i may be wrong, but why spend money on EV14 injectors when a set of rs2 insjectors most likely will suit for the hybrid anyway?

I hear you, my reasoning was that I didn't want the injectors to be the weakest link, but also wanted to use new style injectors that maybe better or more efficient than the older design RS2 ones ?

Always got the impression that oem RS2 were the limiting factor on a hybrid / chipped RS2. Their duty cycle would be too close to 100% ?

Having thought about it again, where I want to use bolt on stuff, std RS2 ones might be the better option for the time being?

Thanks for taking the time to tease out which way I should go.

Once I get this sorted, I can stop posting inflammatory threads on which turbo to use.

RS2 injectors are not even big enough for a standard RS2 turbo, never mind a hybrid.
They are 360cc and the max they can do is 1.8 taper 1.35 on boost.
        A standard RS2 turbo can run 1.8 taper 1.45 and a hybrid can run 1.8 taper 1.6..

but also wanted to use new style inectors that maybe better or more efficient than the oler design RS2 ones ?
The RS2 injectors are very good, even if the design is close to 20 years old.
They have very good latency characteristics, linearity and spray pattern.

Of course the EV14's can do the same, but when they are 3 times as big

          You can get these injectors:
          http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/ev14-...estic-fit-long

Ask them to provide the electrical adapters as well from USCAR to EV1.

            Prj,

Thanks for info and links, I've pasted the post to them in an e-mail and asked them to confirm the price and shipping costs.

Now just need either a hybrid RS2 turbo or a std RS2 turbo, will then be back in touch re a suitable temporary chip.

See I don't know what a hybrid rs2 is capable of. I would have thought that they could cope.

Just to confirm, those are 750cc injectors, is that not way too big for our needs?

There is not really a such thing as "too big" anymore. It's a myth. I've mapped 1200cc EV14's on gasoline and they were fine etc. Of course if you fit 1000cc EV1's it'll run really lumpy on low load. Not so with the new injectors though.

You could fit 1000cc injectors as well, but they are a lot more expensive. The 750cc cost almost the same as 550cc ones (3$ difference), so go bigger. More spare room, easier to sell later and so on.

I see your logic there, if there is no disadvantage then why not.

Another type of injectors you can look at are Bosch Green Giants.
They are 440cc, and they are completely plug and play length and electrical connection wise, the only thing you will have to do is slightly extend the clip groove for the clips to sit better, but that takes a minute or two.

They are EV6 though, not EV14. Still work very well and no misfires on idle.

These are perfect. I used them for the 3071 without issues with motronic and vems

They look like an interesting option for me as they are cheaper and dont need adapters. ~$150 less for the set.

Question is are the 750's worth the extra money for the newer design, is the part throttle/idle performance that much better?

                              No, no difference.

The ones I was referring to are Green Giants. 155968.
I also have Bosch apple green injectors - 150558
