    ABY/ADU Steering Pump

My steering pump is spraying oil and doing a strange noise.

Does anybody knows where I can get a new one and the PN?

    Best regards,

    Diogo.

Go to the main dealer and order a rebuild kit, ONLY USE OEM PARTS !

          And try this link http://www.isham-research.co.uk/quat...ulic_pump.html

I agree but first check the most common source of any leak which is from the O ring under the round plugs with the large cross on them (the piston caps). If your leak is from there you can replace the plugs and O ring with new ones from an Audi dealer p/n 026 145 541.

also if the pump is making a racket chances are a seal kit ain't going to fix it.
I found somewhere selling the OE ZF re-manufactured pumps a while ago, will see if i can dig out the info

                Thanks!
                I would appreciate!

The source of the leak was the plug 026 145 541.
I've already bought one, now I need to wait.

The noise just happens when the car starts up, so I'm wondering if it happens because the pump stays without oil.
I mean without internal oil due to the leak.

                rgds!

You have your solution (the X-plug) but since I just answered the pump PN question, I might as well add that here too.

General tandem vane pump info (for the AAN but the ideas are the same for the B3/B4 cars including those with NM, 7A, 3B, ABY and the RS2 ADU): http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/msgs/38240.phtml

When searching for info about the combined power steering/power brake pump you need to use "tandem vane" (pump) as the key words. The PN for a replacement tandem vane pump for your S2 is 8G0145165 X. This pump has been widely used in the B3s and B4s including those with NM, 7A, 3B and ABY engines as well as with the ADU in the RS2.

                  X-plug PN:

                  Hope that helps

These pumps and their drive belt are not always quiet! Mine has been noisy for years but it's still working fine.

Is any axial play allowed on these pumps?

I bought an overhauled one from ebay germany but I can pull the pulley back and forth something like 2mm.
