    tank straps

Had a look under the car recently and realised the tank straps are looking a bit tatty. Does anyone have any half decent fuel tank straps up for grabs?

It seems hard to find new ones... Are they now NLA?

They are all like that unfortunately as they seem to suffer from stone chips etc, If they are not too bad, remove one at a time and refurb it so you don't have to drop the tank. Just be careful, the 13mm bolts and 10mm retaining clips sometimes don't come off easily. I know the furthest back one on the s2 I had earlier this year was a pita, the 13mm was rusted in and wouldn't come out.

        NLA last time I checked.

I was working on a site recently and some contractors where using a galvanised fixing band to hold some duct work in place, it looked ideal to make tank straps out of.

I'm going to get some of this band next time I see the contractor in question which will be in early January.
