    ABY intake pipe

I'm after an ABY intake pipe, from IC hose to throttle body hose.

    Cheers

        Thanks mate
I'm not frantic really, just trying to get all the final bits together and starting to see details that need to be altered from the plans.
Still like that ducting if you don't mind... no rush for it though to be fair..

Thanks mate - last few odds and ends now I think, we're on the home stretch. Its only take me about 3 years to get around to it
Still, virtually every other aspect of the car is pretty much how I want it now

Took me a few years to collect all the necessary bits to convert mine, then went and bought an avant

Thanks for the vote of confidence Mark!

Is there any benefit of a plastic one over metal?
I'll probably take it Andy, ill pm you

Ive heard the metal ones are preferable, they are less prone to cracking and you can weld bungs on if required and even polish it to try and reflect heat....

I have up most confidence you will follow through

The wisdom used to be the plastic version runs cooler, certainly you dont want to lean on a metal one with a hot engine. Other difference i noticed was the plastic version is quieter.

Good point, i suppose plastic doesnt conduct the heat so much... I wonder which is better, a plastic that doesnt conduct heat, or a polished metal that doesnt absorb radiating heat as much?? My guess is plastic is better... especially if you put heat reflecting silver tape on the underside of a plastic pipe? Would be interesting to see back to back IAT's...

Cold air running through the pipe will be much cooler than the ambient temperature in the engine bay, so anything that reduces the heat soak between the engine bay and pipe can only be a good thing. Of course, when moving, the engine bay will reduce in temperature and on a long pull the IATs may increase as the IC heats up...

Conclusion:- if you live in traffic, lag it, if not, just make it look nice

I don't really like polished stuff, its just trying too hard, know what I mean?
So I'm not fussy, plastic sounds preferable if available, but metal will do just fine
