I'm in need of the hydraulic hose connecting the pump (connector on the top) to the bomb. Are these the same on both RHD and LHD?

I hope you forgive me for hijacking this wanted thread but it's related, need to change this hose too and is wondering if someone has the measurements of it and fitting sizes so I can make one up?

If you go to someone that has crimping tools for hydraulic hoses in machines used for building premises you'll be fine. They have also hoses for that and banjo joints .

No its not always a faulty pump. Been there, had a high pressure hose made, had all the whining noise and once the hose was replaced it all went.
In actual fact my hose was the one coming from the rack to the pump. But looking at the way all hydraulic hoses are made I will bet it will whine.Comment

So what's the difference with audi own hoses?
They must have some sound dampening then?Audi S2 -1994 | 480 Hp 650 Nm | FlexFuel | MaxxECU | 3" Stainless | Porsche GT3 Front Brakes

Well surely these dampened hoses must be available on the aftermarket?
Anyone know the technical term for them?Audi S2 -1994 | 480 Hp 650 Nm | FlexFuel | MaxxECU | 3" Stainless | Porsche GT3 Front Brakes

There is and we also tried using one of them inside the aftermarket power Steering hose we made and made absolutely no difference.
Comes from experience guys. Been there done that so now I have a couple of used spare audi hoses that work.
Perhaps the solution would be to make a rubber hose with the added dampening in it and hope it worksComment

This hose I have successful rebuilt 2 years back, I used normal hydraulic hose there is a restrictor located in the hose where the metal collar is a 3rd of the way down the hose. There is and we also tried using one of them inside the aftermarket power Steering hose we made and made absolutely no difference.

Just carefully remove the ends and restrictor and fit them to the new hose
One thing you need to remember is mark the orientation of the ends, otherwise you will not be able to twist the hose to fit if its to far outRS 2 580HPComment
